Latest Australian Car Auction Report - Next 7 days (01 February, 2026)

The Australian auto auction market is diverse. With over 100 auction houses spread across various states in Australia, grasping current changes and the status of the overall market seems impossible. We at Wholesale Console bring you a weekly report of the Australian auction market at a glance.

This week presents us with surprising stats about Queensland. Also, auction events across Australia are increasing significantly. You might get more opportunities to bag that car this week, so stay updated with our Wholesale ConsoleData collected as of 01 February 2026, approximately 9 AM.

1. Auction Volume by State (Regional distribution)

With thousands of vehicles scheduled to go under the hammer over the next seven days, this update provides dealers, buyers, and industry professionals with a clear snapshot of current supply levels, demand patterns, and notable high-value listings available across the country.

Insight:

NSW and Queensland, along with Victoria, clearly dominate national auction volume, positioning them as primary sourcing markets. This week also, we observed Queensland outperform Victoria in auction stocks.

3. Auction Timing Patterns (Auction Event)

Every day of the week, we can expect an auction in one of three time frames. Morning, afternoon and evening. With the wholesale console’s dashboard, we can shortlist every one of them every day. For instance, on Sunday, the data shows the following distribution:

Daily Distribution

  • Morning (8–11 AM)
  • Afternoon (12–4 PM)
  • Evening (after 5 PM)

4. Auction Platform Landscape

The Australian auction market offers deals on a daily basis. Most of the big auction houses are active all the time, and some need inspection. This week, there will be 26 active auction houses conducting either online or physical auctions.

  • Mix of:

    • Large national operators (Pickles, Manheim, Grays)

    • Regional specialists

Online-only platforms (eBay, Collecting Cars)

5. Regional Activity Profile

  • VIC: Highest number of auction events (event-driven market)
  • NSW: Highest total vehicle volume (volume-driven market)
  • WA / SA / ACT: Smaller but consistent activity

Insight:
Different states require different strategies:
Auction markets in Australia require different strategies depending on the region.

  • NSW → volume efficiency. A high-volume market will provide you with many options and possibilities. You can have a second option ready.
  • VIC → event selection and timing. The number of auction events may occur at the same time by different auctioneers. You have to choose one and choose the best for you.
  • Smaller states → opportunistic sourcing.

6. Suggested Bidding

Finding and shortlisting cars according to your bidding budget can be really hard, of course, without the Wholesale console. Here you can apply a filter, “Suggested bid”, and find all cars listed among various auctioneers with one click. This week we can expect:
