Used car auction in Australia continues to display strong activity, with 6,852 vehicles listed across multiple online and physical auctions this week. New South Wales (NSW) leads the market once again, contributing 2,841 listings, making it the most active state by far. At the other end of the spectrum, Tasmania (TAS) features a more modest count, with just 63 listings, highlighting regional disparities in auction activity.
States like Victoria and Queensland also show consistent listing volumes, helping to balance the national market. For those located in lower-supply areas like the Northern Territory or Tasmania, we suggest broadening your search into neighbouring higher-supply states or leveraging online-only listings for better variety.

This week, SUVs, wagons, and utes once again emerge as the most sought-after vehicle types. Thanks to their unmatched versatility, strong towing capabilities, and off-road utility, they remain especially appealing to tradespeople, regional buyers, and families looking for dependable all-rounders.
Meanwhile, on the premium end of the market, we continue to observe growing interest in classic and prestige cars. This niche segment is gaining momentum among collectors and enthusiasts who are actively seeking low-kilometre examples or rare, hard-to-find models.
Additionally, categories such as sedans, hatchbacks, and vans are still holding steady. These vehicles provide reliable, budget-conscious options for urban commuters and small business fleets, making them a practical choice for day-to-day use.

Among the highlights this week are three near-new vehicles with extremely low mileage. A 2024 Ford Ranger with only 19 km and a 2024 Suzuki Jimny at 30 km are both listed in NSW, offering buyers essentially showroom-condition models at auction prices. In QLD, a 2024 Mitsubishi ASX with just 133 km adds another solid option for those prioritizing value and minimal wear.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, high-mileage vehicles are still finding buyers in work-heavy sectors. NSW lists a 2013 Jeep Grand with an odometer reading of 999,999 km—a staggering figure. Meanwhile, VIC and QLD feature a 2012 Isuzu NPR and a 2008 Toyota Landcruiser, registering 790,903 km and 678,634 km respectively. These rugged performers still hold value for rural operations, parts harvesting, or specific commercial uses.
